香港警察太无能了。 要是派美国警察去清场，收拾非法集会，还不是易如反掌。

北美崔哥：香港占街，美国警察实在看不下去！

“北美崔哥”在美国27年，多次目击美国警察暴力执法，还进过监狱，所以有资格把民主国家“真相”介绍给同胞。他表示，香港占街，港民得到的不是民主，而是伊拉克的今天。并呼吁，香港同胞请勿上民主国家之当。“自家之事，好好商量”。

崔哥：Officer (警察先生)，问您个事。如果有上万人在美国占街，一占好几天，堵塞交通，你们怎么办？

警察：Remove them by force,period! (武力清除，甭废话!) 还记得2011年占领华尔街吗？

崔哥：当然记得，那会儿我在纽约。我记得纽约警局从八个城市调来警力，有防爆车，防爆队，狙击手，骑警马队，使用的武器有警棍， 电棍，泰撒电枪。

警察：别忘了，还有真枪。如果拒捕，我们有权使用武力;如果用任何凶器威胁警员生命，那必须shoot to kill. (开枪击毙)。

崔哥：可是，可是占街的是学生，是年轻人呀，他们可是为了追求民主的。

警察：民主is none of my damnbusiness (跟我没有半毛钱关系)，my duty and job (我的工作职责) 是维护一个文明社会的秩序。没有秩序，民主就是a piece of shit. (一堆臭屎)

崔哥：那，他们有不满怎么才能发泄呢？

警察：活着的人都有一肚子不满，我就不满意美国人人可以有枪，加大了警察殉职的系数，我还不满警察只能随身带手枪，而我们的对手却拿着机枪。不满又怎么样？我每天照常上班，地球不能围着我转。你看大街上多少人，人人都满意，可能吗？

崔哥：2011年占领华尔街，学生们要求的是打破富人垄断财富，减少贫富差别，这和今天香港学生要求普选没什么两样。上街抗议的有很多妇女。对女人你们也动武驱除吗？

警察：女警察专门就是干这事的。法律面前人人平等，一个社会必须要有规则和秩序。你觉得不公平，可以上法院去告，可以在规定地点抗议，演讲，可以在网上联名呼吁。但是一旦你过了头，警察命令你walk away (走开)，lay down (趴下)，spread legs (劈腿) ，hands back (双手背后)，你必须服从，这是警察的权利和尊严。

崔哥：可是，你看香港的年轻人占街这么久，不觉得违法，反认为有理。

警察：这是欺负中国警察软弱。当初英国人管辖的时候，香港人怎么不敢占街呢？我告诉你英国警察可不是你想象的绅士，他们照样会抡圆了警棍打得你头破血流的。

崔哥：可现在僵在这了，你有什么好建议吗？

警察：我们总统奥巴马不是刚讲完话吗，说全世界哪里有危机就找美国。他要是下令，我们纽约警察就可以到香港去维持秩序，让香港的学生懂得什么叫respect authority (尊重权威)。对了，香港人讲什么语？

崔哥：讲广东话，我听不懂;不过大部分人都上英语学校，都会讲英文。

警察：他们的英文我也听不懂。By the way, 中国人不是有钱吗，可以每年派你们的警察来美国培训，学学什么叫暴力执法。

崔哥：中国有专门负责暴力执法的部门，叫城管。最后，我还想问一句，您对香港警察有什么建议吗？

警察：我要是香港总督，就禁止任何警察吃面条，肠粉和稀粥一类的玩意，吃那玩意怎么可能有劲执法呢？怎么能有资格当警察呢？

　　 

崔哥声明：1)支持中国民主进程，但是占街之举，即便在民主大国美国也不会被容忍。2)本人身在美国27年，多次目击美国警察暴力执法，本人还进过监狱，所以有资格把民主国家真相介绍给同胞。照片在这摆着，是非自有公论。所以，凡骂我等下流话之人，股子里流淌着仇恨中国的黑血，被这类人骂，无尚光荣。3)香港占街，股市暴跌，市场瘫痪，亲痛仇快。一旦蔓延，南北反目，港民得到的不是民主，而是伊拉克的今天。中华民族一败涂地之日，哈哈大笑的恐怕不是中国人。你们懂我的意思。所以，同胞请勿上当。自家之事，好好商量

这个北美傻哥根本没搞明白一个常识性的道理，美国警察是要听从 police chief, mayor or governor 的命令才能去清场的。如果有那么多的选民集会游行要求那个 police chief, mayor or governor 下台，他早就滚蛋了，根本不可能赖着不走，还能下命令清场。

Occupy wall street 那年我正好在NYSE做事，大概有6个月的时间每天上班都要经过OWS的场地，从来没看到这傻哥所说的警察暴力，倒是看到有时采访拍照的记者比游行的还多。

There are always 2 sides of the story... here it is.. I think "Peacefully" is the key word, common ground we should be focusing on. 

Don't we forget there is "Martin Luther King Jr" in US history. 美国警察暴力执法, King got into Jail.

Martin Luther King, in his famous "Letter from the Birmingham Jail," called on all Americans to actively but peacefully oppose laws that were morally wrong. King wrote:

本人同意警察的观点。 如果民主就是阻塞交通使城市活力窒息，制造混乱干扰市民生活，欺骗学生罢课影响其未来前途，包围政府不许员工上班，驱赶游客购物妨害经济。 这种“民主 is none of my damn business (跟我没有半毛钱关系)。”，我想跟大多数人民也是‘none of my damn business'。 任何民主都不应该践踏社会和他人的利益，不应该妨碍一个文明社会的秩序。警察说的太好了，“没有秩序，民主就是a piece of shit. (一堆臭屎)”。  

我想老蒋对此事的处理方法是，机关枪扫射，特务抓人；老毛是把他们都号召去山野边疆；老邓是军队大棒伺候；小马是跪求磕头。。。， 这些都不如美国警察把人抓到牢里，送到法庭，大笔罚款，更实惠。民主人士也应该为民主支付财务成本，把经济损失转嫁给社会是不合理的。

I agree that that piece might not from @北美崔哥 at all. And he's just an entertainer. So he is not neccessarily serious at that.
But one thing I totally agree is those people in HK never asked QE II for directly vote for a governor. Why do it now? I also agree some countries can be behind this too.

I want to point out some questions you may ask yourself when it comes to discussions like this.

First, is it a civilized society if most people cannot get to participate in the process of law making and leader election?  (Nazi camps? it can still be civilized if you follow all the rules there)

Second, do you have to play with the rule if you are not the rule-maker?  And the rule-makers always trying to set up the rules to their own favor?  (For people who saying you should always following the law without knowing why there is a law in the first place)

Third, do you always make your decisions based or short-term gain or losses?  (For people who saying this damages economy, blah blah,)  If you always pay attention to your immediate economic interest, then you may find you losing them gradually to a bully who always wants just a little bit more.  It is not wise to fight for that the little interest as the cost outruns the gain at the moment.  In politics, if you are too rational, you will be controlled by the other party, as all your moves will be predictable.  Therefore, irrationalism may be the rational move.

For a government who believes in guns (枪杆子里出政权）， and who always operates in secrecy, what is the best way to protect yourself? what is the best to do for the people of the country?

Eventually, you'll think about the old time tested book Du contrat social (社会契约论）.

Politics is all about social contracts and who breaks what and what you should do.  Losing sights of that, you'll be easily fooled by politics.

美国方面究竟在香港“占中”活动中扮演什么角色？当然不是小角色！如果以为美方与之毫无干系，不是脑袋进水了，就是完全被美方迷惑的人士，天真烂漫。

　　越来越多的证据表明，美方是香港“占中”活动最重要的“黑手”，对此，中方已经十分恼怒地与美方有所交涉。现在，香港“占中”越来越显露出“颜色革命”的狰狞面目，如果美方还要坚持力撑下去，中美关系必然遭遇重大的伤害，美国在香港的政治利益也将要遭到全面的清算。在香港拥有巨大的经济利益的美国，其实也无法承受香港经济因为“占中”而急剧衰退。

　　美国助理国务卿查尔斯.里夫金（Charles　H.　Rivkin）今年9月3日会见香港传媒时表示，美国政府明确地信任、支持中国政府“一国两制”政策，同时也提到“一国两制”加固了香港回归17年以的经济繁荣。里夫金表示，美国和香港的商贸来往植根深远，互惠互利，香港作为美国重要的贸易伙伴，是美国在全球的第九大商品出口地、第六大农业产品出口市场和第四大牛肉出口市场，相应地，美国则是香港仅次于中国内地的第二大贸易伙伴。

　　我们相信，查尔斯.里夫金说的是实话，不是耍弄香港人的话。既然如此，香港经济出了问题，美国又能得到什么好处呢？

　　所以，美方还要继续为“占中”活动组织者打气输血吗？

　　美国《纽约时报》日昨发表分析文章，引述一名华府官员表示，美国不希望近期香港的示威活动，影响中美关系。文章表示，华府只希望在气候变化到遏制伊朗核计划等事项与中国合作，而两国官员都希望保持这种状态。这名官员又表示，白宫无意改变总统奥巴马下月访华的计划，不过他们正研究一种最佳的方法来表达对香港抗议活动的担忧，避免影响两国关系。

　　这一则消息很重要，值得各方重视。这是一种透露口风的形式，还需要美国政府机构或者主要官员亲自出来讲话证实。但是，我们不怀疑，美国官方正在进行有关退缩的思考。

　　经过这一段街头运动的尝试，美方应该完全摸清楚了中方的底牌，那就是：一，绝对不会撤回全国人大决定；二，绝对不会放弃对梁振英的完全支持；三，绝对不会姑息破坏香港繁荣稳定的乱港分子；四，绝对不会放弃抗御“颜色革命”的最强硬对策。

　　所以，如果美方继续怂恿“占中”活动组织者硬干下去，最后会连本带利赔一个精光。特别是香港民意已经开始大逆反，再僵持下去，泛民政治人物也将不得人心，今后会失去更大的政治空间。美国人是很务实的，是懂得进退的。所以，是否继续支持占中，美方已经开始犹豫！

　　现在最重要的问题是，美国在香港的干员以及代理人懂不懂美国官方的心态变化。如果不懂，继续像疯子一样蛮干下去，最后损害的是美国在香港的战略利益。这才让美国方面哭笑不得。

　　如果“占中”活动组织者莫名其妙地软下来，那就说明，美国的主子发出了与过往不同的指令了！

占中”运动背后有无人操盘搞局？网上日前疯传由网民“Timesforjacob”制作的“香港街巷心理战解码”短片，该片分析指中国和美国正打“货币战”，香港是其中一个战场，而美国透过隐晦式思想改造，利用未成熟的年轻人作为政治工具，逼警察向学生开枪，从而打压人民币的地位，美国是最大得益者。

香港大公报报道，“Timesforjacob”制作的“香港街巷心理战解码”短片共有两段。该片指出，中央要求行政长官要“爱国爱港”，而“占中”人士称用“爱与和平”占领中环，各方都是用爱的包装，去角逐战场上的道德的高地。该片提出，若一个人漠视国家安全问题，很难说他是爱国爱港，而要了解国家安全问题，必须要了解美国“重返亚洲、平衡地区军力”的战略。

美推霸权地位主义

该片引述美国官方和传媒资料指，美国自2000年起推行全方位霸权地位主义，目标是在2020年，在每个地区以及海、陆、空、心理、生化、网络各方面凌驾其他国家，并筹备与中国开战。由于人民币准备代替美元的地位，货币战争是中美最大的战场。

该片分析，当代战争领域包括心理战，心理战分为四个阶段，首阶段是思想改造，其后依次为制造不安、危机和国际干预。该片又指，思想改造分为官方的和隐蔽的，后者难以被察觉，例如声称是非政府组织的美国国家民主基金会，其资金来源其实是美国政府，该基金会在2011至2012年，在香港大学生的思想工作方面便动用了过千万港元。

该片反问，如果香港有暴徒在旺角中环冲突，逼特区警方开枪镇压，谁的得益最大？不是中央和香港政府，而是美国，因为届时人民币的地位难以取信于天下。

警若开枪美得益最大

至于如何化解当前的局面，该片借用圣经中“麦子与稗子”的寓言说，参与“占中”的人有好的市民和学生，包括崇高的理想学派，及大部分支持和保护学生的群众，但亦有受思想改造的人和极少数外国势力撑腰分子参与其中。该片认为，大家要将稗子和麦子分开，并认为中国和香港政府并非不懂得如何处理事件，而是“不忍心将好的麦子在它未成长的时候就拔出来”。

建议NJCCPS committee可以立一个规矩，凡是与NJCCPS mailing list主旨无太大关系的时政类邮件，每人每星期只允许发送一封邮件（包括回复邮件）来发表看法。

毕竟大部分人对于时政有自己的见解，都是成年人，谁也说服不了谁，实在是没有兴趣看着几个人斗嘴。斗嘴自己有快感，但对整个NJCCPS没有建设性，甚至会造成分裂。一星期发表一个时政看法，一年也有52个之多，足够正常人使用了。

不光中国人怀疑有它国在背后做动作， 美国也有人这么想。 前两天看一个文章。 一个美国大学教授在讨论黄金价格是说：因为现在美国的黄金交易所的合同都是现金结算，不是实物结算。 如果你想实物结算， 交易所把你踢出去。 中国两，三个月前刚开始运作了黄金交易所在上海，而且是实物结算。 这会对美元对黄金的定价权有很大冲击。 现在HK 就闹这事。 他都觉得太suspicious.
And it's reasonable to ask why they did not ask QE II (Queen Elizabeth II) for direct vote when HK was under GB rule.

我和Liping是在帮助亚裔候选人崔俊参选Edison 市长时认识的，我和NJCCP 结缘是为了报道该会换届选举。。。那篇文章的题目是“承先启后，继往开来“。
之后也为该会写过一些文章，都是拙作，在这里提及万不为领功邀赏，只想说明我在乎这个协会。至于什么原因，不言而喻，不用说明。说出来，反而见外了。

我和Eric 认识是因为我们曾经一起为Jon Corzine 竞选州长做过事。之所以帮助Corzine,是因为他相对对华人有感情些，并且乐于与中国人合作生意，不管是出于利润还是兴趣。Corzine 在当选州长前就曾六次访问中国，当选后与中国签订了很多贸易协议。。。Christie 竞选中和当选后，我没有为他写过只言片语因为他从来没正眼看过中国人，因此我也不正眼瞅他。

我为很多参选各种职务的华裔写过文章，竭尽宣扬之能事。。。做这些事的时候，我自己也乐在其中并深受激励和鼓舞。那些华裔候选人明明知道外族裔在美国从政受俗称玻璃天花板的牵制，但他们依然用自己的智慧勇气和不屈不挠的精神去尝试，去突破。我写文章是因为被他们感动。。。我也曾参加过80/20的很多活动，为他们写过文章。直到现在我虽然不再参与他们的活动，因为他们的总部迁到了加州，但从内心我任然希望他们为之奋斗的那种模型能偶实现。。。如果你不知道什么是80/20，可以去 Google。

我希望将来某一天，美国能够出现一个华裔总统，但是，我必须强调，所有这一切必须是在尊重美国现行体制的前提下，必须在遵循美国一切法律和程序的前提下去追求而不是建立在否定甚至破坏美国现行规则的基础上。

你说我和Liping不爱自己的同胞，我恐怕你根本无法领略其中的大爱。爱自己的同胞就是扶植他们在美国的现行体制内往上攀登，而不是把同样在攀登的美国人推下去摔死。

你的逻辑始终是：如果不咬牙切齿地骂美国，诅咒美国，仇恨美国，就是不爱自己的同胞，似乎不恨美国就无法佐证证我爱同胞。这种逻辑推演是没有任何积极意义的。

我爱中国也爱美国，不必隐讳。如果非得说爱哪个多一些，那肯定是中国，这是一不言而喻的事，不必天天挂在嘴上。天天挂在嘴上，不是反而见外了吗？


至于你说痛恨自己的出身就是婊子养的，第一，言重了。第二，也非事实，我就不用费言费语去纠正了，相信你的智商和修养不难让你明白。

陈芝麻烂谷子，提起来，觉得无趣。但见你在你那个“爱同胞一定得恨美国‘的牛角尖里钻的脑子都快变形了，好言开导你几句。希望你把眼界放远点，心胸放宽点于人于自都不是坏事。

关于这个争论，我只说这么多。我的逻辑：志不同不相与谋，话不投机，半句多。

希望你在痛恨美国的高尚情怀中在美国活得愉快！！！

Hi people, can we just drop this subject? I understand each of us came from different part of the world, and with different political thinking. But, based on some of the latest emails, some of us became very emotional on this subject. I hope we can have a civilized and good discussion without using personal attacks. Although my Chinese is very limited by comparing to all of you, I still think we should treat each other with respect. I just don't want anyone within NJCCPS community to get hurt.

个人认为，把批评美国政府或右派势力的事情，冠以痛恨美国的大帽子，有点言过其实了。 我已经强调过很多遍了，中国人是最不痛恨美国的。这就是为什么尽管美国并未善待中国人，中国人还是不屈不挠，坚定不移，英勇不屈，前仆后继的移民美国。  因为中国人知道选民数才是硬道理。

I am planning to buy a SUV now. Basic requirements include seating capacity of 7+ people, V6, and 4WD. Other things I am flexible. I was considering the Honda Pilot, Toyota 4Runner, and Toyota Highlander. It seems the Highlander is good choice with quality and price, especially with the 2014 update. But I have been driving a Highlander for the past 7 years. So I am really considering the Pilot. But the Pilot is an old model - hasn't been updated for almost 6 years. And some friends mentioned that Mercedes is having wonderful leasing programs ....

 

Instead of reading endless reviews online, I would like to tap the knowledge, experience, and wisdom here to help me decide which SUV is the best choice.
