Hi, All:

Our bathroom fan broke down and have been trying to fix it on our own. But
there doesn't seem any fans on the market that matche the original. So we
need to hire an electrician that can also supply the fan. Can anyone
recommend a good one in Middlesex area?

Thanks a lot!

Does the fan have the label showing the brand and model information? If it has, you may go to manufacturer’s website and get replacement for the fan or the parts.

I had a Moen faucet hose broken a couple of months ago. A plumber came for a free estimation – labor nearly $200 + parts nearly $100. But he was nice and suggested me to check the manufacturer’s website. I found the original parts and it costed only $25! The installation was a simple clip-on for this kind of hose, which took me less than 30 seconds.

Good luck,

Yigang

For a friend. His previous employer breached a verbal bonus promise, can he sue the employer? Or any lawer here willing to provide a consultation to or even represent him for the case? Thanks a lot and sorry for disturbing the others.

Verbal promises are not legally binding. I do not think he has a case.

That is right.  If he does not like his firm anymore, just try to find another job.

Denied verbal bonus is pretty common for this kind of economical environment.

Those who attended the NJCCPS seminar had a chance to see a quote from timeless and funny book on one of the slides:

"misery is the inseparable companion of law-debates; and that pleaders are miserable; for sooner shall they attain to the end of their lives, than to the final decision of their pretended rights."
(from Gargantua and Pantagruel, by Francois Rabelais, 16th century).

That's right, sad but true: "pretended rights", and nothing has changed since that sage observation was made.
There are more jobs around IT than a person can shake a stick at, and life is too short to engage in pursuit of "justice" in the workplace.
I say that if the job is not good for some reason - there is always, always a much, much better one waiting for your friend to take it.
As for the boss who breaks his word, "what goes around - comes around". The boss will get what he deserves sooner or later, one way or another, no need to help him. All your friend has do is to follow a Chinese proverb: "Sit down on the riverbank and wait, and you will see corpses of your enemies float by".

If I was in place of your friend, though, I would not sit on the riverbank - I would be very busy with my new, interesting and much better job!
:-)

Cheers!

Andrei and all:

  Sage advise.

You said, "If the job is not good for some reason -
there is always, always a much, much better one
waiting for your friend to take it".

When you get three offers, you will analyze the
pros and cons, and turn down the ones that you
don't want.  But when there was no offer, then
it is a different story.

Wish you the best in job endeavors.

When one has to stay for H1 visa or pending green card application, that is a even sader story.

Totally agree with keeping a positive view in life, but whether a view is positive or not depends on where he stands.

But as for the fairness, I support my friend in either ways, waiting for the final judgment, or seeking for professionals to help the judgment if possible, because sometime, the God is very busy.
