Hi all,
The University of Maine's Fogler Library is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for the 2026 Maine History Archives Travel Grant. The purpose of this grant is to fund researchers seeking to view items in our Special Collections for scholarly use. Please share this announcement widely with any students or colleagues who might be interested.
Applications for this grant are accepted on an annual basis. The 2026 award winner must be available to visit Fogler Library before June 30th, 2026. Applicants will be asked to provide a timeline for their visit as well as a project narrative describing the end product they hope to achieve with their research. They must be 18 years of age to apply.
Grants are awarded up to $3,000 to reimburse costs incurred for travel including lodging, transportation, and meals. Those awarded the grant will have access to Fogler’s Special Collections during regular hours. The purpose of this grant is to facilitate the use of our materials so they might contribute to current studies.
At the end of their visit, grant recipients will be asked to give a presentation or provide a report of their experience to be published in the UMaine Libraries newsletters.
Please visit the Maine History Archives Travel Grant webpage to apply and for further details.
This year’s application deadline is Dec. 1, 2025. The committee expects to have a decision by Jan. 12, 2026. If you have any questions, please reach out to Greg Curtis at gregory....@maine.edu.
