For those from Maine, please forgive the cross-posting...

Hello,

I have been a member of the Association for Rural and Small Libraries for years, as an individual, and I have benefitted in my work (Bridgton Public Library, Maine) from the conferences, continuing education, and connections with peers from all over.

If you are not a member yet, you should absolutely consider it!

This past week I attended the four candidate forums. There are a record number of engaged professionals putting themselves forward to support the future work of ARSL, and I encourage you to read their statements. And of course, I always recommend exercising your membership benefit to VOTE.

There are three positions for which YOU can have a say: Secretary, Northeast Regional Rep, and Vice-President/President-Elect. (Elections will be open July 30-August 13.)

And while I have sent messages like this through the years, in the interest of complete disclosure, I am running for the position of Vice President/President Elect. And truly, whatever your vote, I respect everyone's right to vote for the person they think will do the work best.

So please (1) consider membership if you are not already, (2) be an informed voter, and (3) vote for the best candidates.

Enjoy the day today.

Sincerely,
Amy Stone
