If that sounds exciting, then becoming the next director of the Public Library of Brookline might be the perfect job for you. The Library has three distinct locations: Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner and Putterham, serving each an area of the Town of Brookline with unique spaces, collections, and programs.
The Public Library of Brookline Board of Trustees consists of 12 Brookline residents who are elected to three-year terms of office. Working closely with the Director of the Library, the Trustees provide oversight of the Library budget, its services and its policies.
Qualified candidates will have a Master’s Degree in Library Science, or equivalent, from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school, ten years of progressively responsible experience in professional library work, including five years of administrative and supervisory responsibility, and certification from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners or the ability to obtain certification.
The salary range for base pay is $153,000 to $180, 000 depending on qualifications plus an excellent benefits package offered by the Town.
