Subject: Call for Proposals: MLA Conference 2026

Hello All,

The Maine Library Association Annual Conference will be May 18-19, 2026, at
Thomas College in Waterville, ME. Mark your calendars!

This year's theme is “Hang in There: Libraries on the Edge of Change”.

Our call for proposals for the conference is now live and can be found by
following or copy/pasting this link: https://forms.gle/j9eCyoD1cfAKEeAF6

We are looking for a wide array of programs that represent the diversity of
library work and libraries in Maine. New this year: in addition to
traditional presentations, we are also seeking folks who are interested in
facilitating roundtable discussions on a chosen topic and those who may
have a micro-presentation to share for a speed-dating style activity. If
you’ve never presented before and have a program or service you’re excited
to share, a micro-presentation would be a great choice for you!

If you are interested in presenting at MLA please fill in the form by
Friday, February 6. Proposals will be reviewed in February and
notifications will go out by the end of that month.

To complete this form you will need:

* A program proposal working title

* The names and job titles of any co-presenters

* A program overview and description of your proposed program

* Three learning outcomes for program attendees

* Traditional sessions are 50 minutes or double sessions for longer
workshops; Roundtable discussions are 50 minutes; Micro presentations are
~10 minutes shared multiple times throughout a 50 minute block.

If you have any questions about filling out this form, please contact the
conference programming subcommittee:
