Minimum qualifications include a master's in library information science from a school approved by the appropriate Commonwealth agency or accredited by the American Library Association and five years of library experience with three of those years in an administrative role. A professional librarian certification from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania must be obtained within six months of hire. Preferred attributes include a firm understanding of principles, practices, and trends of public libraries, experience with community outreach, and a history of active involvement in community organizations.

The hiring salary range is $90,000 – $100,000

Deputy Director/Chief Public Services Officer – Sacramento Public Library (CA)

The qualified candidate for this role will possess a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (or similarly titled equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program, five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a management level position overseeing public services at a multi-branch library system, including three (3) years of experience as a branch supervisor/manager, and a valid Class C California Drivers’ License and proof of satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) clearance will be required within six months of hire.

The salary range is $140,358 – $207,376
