Hi Everyone-

As you may know, I was the RD (with plenty of help from others) for Tour of the Hilltowns Road Race for many years.  I am looking to bring it back, but I need a club behind it.  The biggest challenge was not all financial- it was volunteer support on race day to support race safety.

If any of your clubs are willing to help being this race back, I'd love to have a chat. I am happy to share previous financials and any other information.

It may be a little late this season to plan to run the race at an ideal time, but if anyone is interested, I'd welcome a conversation.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Benjamin of the ECCC here. Tour Of The Hilltowns would be the fourth non crit road race of New England, so anytime is a fine time to run it. Eight weeks of headway are required to qualify for the Ranguin rainy day fund

If you’d want to send all documents along to benj...@eccc-cycling.com , we could take a look at it, as I know all our student racers are craving more road races. Definitely not this year, but there’s always another year

Thank you,

Benjamin

Hi Tim,

This is great to hear, I know Hilltowns is a favorite race, at least among those of us who enjoy hilly courses.

Would you be willing to share a rough breakdown of how many volunteers you need and at what areas? I’ve been promoting crits, so I have a good sense of what I need there but don’t have an idea of what is needed for a road race.

Thank you!

Alex
