Call for Expressions of Interest to host Open Repositories 2028

As the Open Repositories 2026 (Online) Conference approaches this June, preparations are also underway for the open repositories community’s return to an in-person conference in Salvador, Brazil, in 2027.
Building on this exciting momentum, the Open Repositories Steering Committee (ORSC) is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from organisations interested in hosting the 2028 Open Repositories (OR2028) Annual Conference.
In-person OR conference locations alternate between Europe, North America, and a third location outside those regions. As OR2025 was held in Chicago, North America, and OR2027 will take place in Brazil, Latin America, preference for OR2028 will be given to candidate hosts in Europe. However, EOIs from all regions will still be considered.
