Hi all,
Wishing you a
Happy Thanksgiving this week for those who celebrate and safe travels for anyone leaving for the holidays. Just a few announcements for some upcoming events:
Thank you to everyone who came to our November policy forum last week Thursday! We had our biggest turn out yet and an amazing discussion on the myths and facts about recycling and how policy is affecting the current recycling industry. Please see the attached powerpoint from one of our speakers, Caitlin Jacobs from the Office of Sustainability.

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday (11/26) at 7:30 PM for our second Michiana Science Cafe of the semester titled NextGen Human-Drone Partnerships in Emergency Response with guest speaker Dr. Cleland-Huang. Free appetizers will be provided while supplies last!
Videos of
drones delivering packages or surveying fires and floods are now commonplace. But drones can be used for so much more! This talk explores the next generation of drone use in society, where drones participate in emergency response scenarios as fully-fledged, autonomous, team members. This talk explores several questions. "What do human-drone partnerships look like in an emergency response scenario?" "How do drones make autonomous decisions?" and finally, "How would this use of drones shape our communities in terms of safety, privacy, and low-altitude traffic?" Bring your questions and comments, and be prepared to engage in a lively discussion of NextGen Drone use in our community.
