Hi all,
Thank you to all who came to our last few co-sponsored events as well as our concession stand. Just a couple of updates and upcoming events:
A friendly reminder that our next policy forum meeting will be NEXT week Thursday and not the week after due to Thanksgiving break. Join us to talk about the future of recycling and how much our "recycling" actually ends up in landfills.
Help aid in our discussion. Submit your questions ahead of time here. SPI@ND November Policy Forum: Saving Recycling from the Trash BinHow much of your “recycling” ends up in a landfill? Recycling has long been touted as a solution for many of our sustainability issues, however, we must deal with low recycling rates, high rates of contamination, and fewer markets abroad for our recycling. Sustainability offices and recycling companies must craft new policies to craft a new way forward for the future of recycling. Join SPI on Thursday, Nov 21st at 5:00 PM in Room 106 Duncan Student Center in welcoming Notre Dame’s Caitlin Jacobs and Borden Waste Away’s Logan Miller in a discussion about the future of recycling.
