Short Abstract
Marine ecosystems provide tremendous benefits and services to people, including food provision, economic livelihoods, recreational opportunities, and cultural or spiritual value. In this NCEAS Roundtable, I will present research in which my colleagues and I examined the current and expected future state of human impacts on the oceans and marine biodiversity through several lenses. Discussing how our various studies help support goals of the UN CBD Global Biodiversity Framework to inform effective conservation strategies that support a healthy and sustainable marine social-ecological system.
