Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the Final Workshop of the Project – “SnowTinel: Sentinel-1 SAR assisted catchment hydrology: toward an improved snow-melt dynamics for alpine regions”, which will take place on
10 December 2025, from 09:00 to 13:00, in Bolzano, Italy - Eurac Research – Seminar 1. Participation will also be possible
online.
The workshop will bring together project partners and invited experts to present and discuss the main outcomes of SnowTinel project. The preliminary program includes contributions from:
-
Giacomo Bertoldi (Eurac Research) & Carlo Marin (Eurac Research) – Introduction to the SnowTinel Project
-
Francesca Carletti (WSL-SLF) – Snow melt dynamics from Sentinel-1, in situ measurements, and radiative transfer modelling
-
Valentina Premier (Eurac Research) – Multi-source high-resolution satellite data for snow cover mapping
-
Michele Bozzoli (Eurac Research; C3A – University of Trento) – Estimating snow water equivalent with satellite data and hydrological models
-
Riccardo Barella (Eurac Research) – Investigating snow properties through field measurements and melting calorimetry
-
Mathias Bavay (WSL-SLF) – Challenges in snow physical modelling and insights from long-term datasets
-
Christoph Marty (WSL-SLF) – Gridded climatological snow datasets for Switzerland (online)
A detailed flyer with the final programme will be shared in the coming days.
To help us to plan the event, we kindly ask you to
confirm your participation (in person or online) by replying to this email or by writing to Giacomo Bertoldi (giacomo....@eurac.edu)
