Dear colleagues,

We are excited to announce the launch of a unique multimodal imaging platform at the IPHYS Bioimaging Facility, now available through the Czech-BioImaging national infrastructure and the Euro-BioImaging research network.

This new system integrates the high-speed Nikon Spinning Disk SoRa confocal microscope with a Brillouin Microscope, enabling researchers to perform correlative imaging that combines:

  • high-resolution, rapid fluorescence imaging of live cells and tissues, and
  • label-free biomechanical mapping of mechanical properties such as longitudinal modulus and viscosity.

The platform is designed to support a broad range of research from mechanobiology and developmental biology to translational and biomedical studies, helping to reveal dynamic biological processes with unparalleled detail.

If you are planning experiments that could benefit from this advanced, multimodal imaging capability or would like more information about access and training, please check the facility web pages (https://bioimaging.fgu.cas.cz/iphys-bioimaging-facility-unveils-unique-combined-spinning-disk-brillouin-imaging-system/ or  https://bioimaging.fgu.cas.cz/machines/) or contact the IPHYS Bioimaging Facility team.

Best regards,

Daniel Hadraba | Head of IPHYS Bioimaging Facility
