Death Announcement: Attorney Samuel Wegoye

With deep sorrow I announce the passing on of my dear brother-in-law Attorney Sam Wegoye, eldest brother of my wife Betty Wakou. He died in a Kampala hospital succumbing to cancer after a long illness. The late Sam Wegoye has been a lawyer in Mbale all his adult life apart from a brief stint in exile in the 70’s. He was also a very devout Christian and Pastor in Mbale. Your prayers and support for the family are very much appreciated during this time of bereavement. He has “fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith”. MHSRIP.

Thank you for sharing. My deepest condolences indeed. The sting of death is ever so present. Naye mukume. I spoke to his lovely wife and brother Steven yesterday.

He was a remarkable and unique individual. His absence will be felt by many as he helped a lot of people, including our own family. I knew him well personally. He had been sick for some time with prostate cancer. He was a man of God and will be missed, especially in Mbale. 1 CORINTHIANS 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive".

My heartfelt condolences.  Samwiri was an icon.  I remember him especially when we all lived in Buwalasi Theological College.  He was our role model as a soccer player and a hard working student who inspired us and very much so when he went to the most famous law school on the continent, the University of Dar es Salaam.  Every kid in Nambulu wanted to be a Samwiri Wegoye.

He also followed his Dad's footsteps by ministering and witnessing for Christ and is with the Lord now.  Samwiri, rest in everlasting peace.
