Regional Rep Nomination - Marion Richard

Hello fellow NAIGCers,

I am pleased to nominate Marion Richard for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative. Marion has been a competitive gymnast for the past 17 years and is currently a junior at Virginia Tech, majoring in Biology on a Pre-med track. She joined the VA Tech team as freshman and will be serving as the women's co-captain for her second term in the 2021 season. Additionally, she has been working with local clubs and coaching gymnastics for the past five years. After she finishes her bachelor's degree she is ultimately planning on becoming a physician's assistant specializing in orthopedics. 

I met Marion before she joined the NAIGC and have been able to witness her evolve into a leader over the past few years. Marion has many connections throughout the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC regions that can help strengthen the NAIGC's connection with the greater gymnastics community. She has already served as a mentor, motivating many of her former USAG teammates to join the organization as they started college. She is knowledgeable of how gymnastics competitions should be run, but also adaptable if things aren't going according to plan. She is logic-oriented and quick to seek out assistance if she finds herself outside of her expertise, but also confident when her thoughts are brought to question. Marion has been has been a wonderful addition to the NAIGC and truly embodies the spirit of the organization.
