Sad news

Hello everyone,

I have some sad news. On Monday I went for a normal walk with my seeing-eye dog chief in the morning.  In the afternoon we went out into the backyard and played although he did lay on his blanket more than he did play. At 7 o'clock at night and he collapsed and we rushed him to the emergency vet clinic which was an hour and a half away. They did an ultrasound and said that he had a mass on his liver and spleen and it had ruptured and was bleeding into his abdomen. We had no other choice but to put him to sleep. They were very thoughtful and compassionate and we're very support supportive. They brought him in on a blanket and I laid down next to him for as long as I wanted before I had to say goodbye. It is such a shock and unexpect unexpected. He was nine years two months. I have since discovered that so many dogs have suffered the same end.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I’m glad you had A lot of time together though and that he was an older dog. But, it still doesn’t make things easier. Be good to yourself and know that he knows he was loved. Take care.
