Hello everyone. Welcome to the NAGDU Discuss list. I’d like to get things started by having a philosophical discussion about putting your guide dog’s name along with your email signature. There are no right or wrong answers here, and I am interested in hearing from people who feel strongly about either end of this decision as to whether they do it, don’t do it, do it sometimes, or why.

Thanks.

I only add Cheech to a signature if I’m emailing someone who knows him well and I’ve mentioned him in the message such that adding him seems appropriate. For example, I emailed a friend to let her know that Cheech had been gnawing for hours on the flavored nylabone she got him for xmas, and I signed the email as being from me (and Cheech).

Hi all-

I add my dog’s name to personal and informal email or email going to guide dog related lists or the Guiding Eyes graduate email list.

Hi Raul,

Thanks for a fun and thought-provoking discussion idea.
I don't include my guide Freddie in my signature I created in Outlook, but if I'm writing a note to family and friends, I will often use the signature, Liz and Freddie.
Even though I don't use my dog's name in my email signature, I added her photo, and I've gotten some nice comments about that.

Also, Al, I love your dog's name!!

Best to all.

Liz

I don’t do this, I never have. To my way of thinking it is me writing the email not my dog…

My dod doesn’t approve or disapprove of any emails I write.

Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

Brent.
