Hi, all.

Dahlia has been diagnosed with acid reflux.

She's getting two cups of Royal Canin Hydrolyzed protein food daily.
She also takes 400 mg of Tagamet a day and I'm feeding her smaller
portions four times a day rather than twice a day.  She's also using an
elevated bowl.

Has anyone worked a dog with acid reflux?  What other tips and tricks
work well for a dog with this condition.

Thanks in advance for the thoughts.

Lisa

Julie,

Thanks so much.  It's a bit overwhelming at the moment.  Dahlia is my
fourth guide, but my first to develop a chronic condition like this so
early in her career.  She just turned four and we've been together for
fifteen months.

I feel sorry for her because the only treats she gets are her kibble.
At least she loves it and has a good appetite.

I'm glad to know that a dog with acid reflux can work successfully with
a bit of planning.

I fed my dog 3 times a day, and she was on a sensitive stomach food. I was super careful not to let her get any human food because with her, any little bit would make her sick.
