I would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt sympathy in my loss of Chief. You are all so wonderful to reach out. It does make me feel like I'm not alone. I know we've all been through this.
It does seem thatHumangiosarcoma is the leading cause of death for our large dogs. I also wonder if it has always been the cause of death for large dogs but no one ever knew it. In the past when a dog was older and died it was just said they died of old age. Until ultrasound and modern diagnostic techniques nobody ever knew and nobody bothered because the dogs were old anyway.
I also know that everything that could be done was done and that really wasn't any choice thank you all so much for your wonderful thoughts and sympathy.
Sincerely,
JODY
