An hour ago, one of the drivers who denied me around 10 days ago came to my house wanting to talk with me. He spoke mostly Spanish, and my Spanish is not at all fluent, but I understand it better than I can speak it.
To the best of my understanding, he explained why he didn’t take me with my guide dog. He said he has breathing issues, and he didn’t know it was a service dog with me. He said he didn’t get a message saying it was a service dog. He said he was very sorry and he hadn’t meant to be discriminatory. I think he was going to tell Uber we had spoken together and he had apologized. And he said he understood that the law says I have the right to have my service dog with me.
It was quite odd.
I’m not sure how I feel about a stranger coming here to talk about what happened, but even so, now we have a bit of an understanding.

It was odd, but I’m not stopping reporting discrimination. I will not live in fear.
To me, the guy just seemed like someone trying to save his job by apologizing for a mistake.
