Dear Federation Family:

As you may have heard, there have been infestations of New World Screwworm in parts of Texas. While Austin’s Travis county is not one of those places, many states are instituting health documentation requirements for animals traveling from Texas. The AKC has helpfully created a page listing the state-by-state requirements. We have linked to that page at NAGDU.org/screwworm. In general, states that require documentation are requiring a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, also known as a CVI, issued within 3 to 7 days of travel. We encourage you to check your state’s requirements to determine what documentation you may need to travel home from convention.

We will not have a vet on-site, but as in the past, NAGDU has found several veterinary clinics near the convention. While we normally do that for veterinary emergencies, this year we have confirmed that they can also provide CVIs for those who need them to travel home. Those clinics are:

Chewy Vet Care The Triangle
Phone: (512) 270-4825
Address: 4700 W. Guadalupe St, Bldg A, Ste A-1, Austin, TX 78751

Burnet Road Animal Hospital
Phone: (512) 342-1710
Address: 8511 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78757

Please note that neither clinic will be open on July 4, but the Chewy clinic can provide emergency vet referrals.

Lets go build the Federation!

Yours,

The NAGDU Board
