Hi everyone,

Thank you for welcoming me to the group. I’m Amy Barthelemy, the founder and primary builder of GovParti, a civic-intelligence platform based in the United States.

GovParti organizes public information around the place itself rather than requiring people to understand which agency, jurisdiction, vendor portal, or database holds each part of an answer. It currently connects information across all 3,127 U.S. counties, with city ingestion now beginning.

The platform brings together local conditions, public meetings, laws and courts, public spending, services, policy context, research, and resident tools. A major part of the work is preserving the source, geography, date, license, archive record, and methodology behind what users see.

I keep public lab notes at https://labs.govparti.org, including unfinished work, requests for expertise, method tests, missing evidence, and measures that were investigated and rejected. I am also documenting reusable technical work at https://developers.govparti.org, including place and jurisdiction crosswalks, identifier transitions, provenance tooling, and other infrastructure developed while connecting public information across jurisdictions.

I was glad to find mySociety because I have been thinking carefully about how civic infrastructure can remain useful to residents while also supporting governments, researchers, legal professionals, educators, and newsrooms.

One question I am actively working through is how a place-based civic platform can begin serving institutions without allowing institutional workflows to dominate the resident experience. I would be especially interested in conversations with anyone working on jurisdiction identity and boundary changes, public-record provenance, archives, or resident-centered civic-product design.
