Dear FixMyStreet Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
My name is hossein
lamvan, and I am an Android developer based in Mumbai/India. I have been following your project with great admiration: the way FixMyStreet empowers citizens to report local infrastructure issues directly to their council is truly inspiring. I believe the concept plays an important role in improving community life and enhancing urban environments.
I understand from your website that the source code of FixMyStreet is open-source, which is a wonderful testament to your commitment to transparency and public participation. I am writing to kindly request access to the Android application’s source code (or a link to the repository) so that I may study its architecture, learn from its design, and possibly contribute localized improvements for community use here in India.
The reason I ask is twofold:
I hope to adapt and localize the application for use in my community, helping local citizens report issues more easily and thereby improving the function of our local government services.
By examining the code, I can better understand the best practices you have used for mapping, location services, and issue-report workflows, and I would like to support the open-source community by possibly submitting enhancements or sharing a local adaptation back for wider use.
If granting full access is not possible, even a developer-friendly version or guidance on how to access the Android source would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you very much for your time and for the great work you do in making cities better and more responsive. I look forward to your kind response, and I hope I may contribute in some small way to that positive change.
Warm regards,
hossein lamvan
