Established in 2021, Sanabil Schools began as a community-based preschool. As our community grew, so did our classrooms, and we are thrilled to announce our comprehensive Kindergarten through 5th Grade STREAM Curriculum for the upcoming school year (science, technology, reading/religious, engineering, art, mathematics). In our newly renovated 7,000 sq.ft. location in Elkridge, Maryland, we are eagerly seeking enthusiastic and certified professionals to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Head of School is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the school. The Head of School reports to our management team and Board of Trustees. The Head of School will also serve as our Executive Director and has the authority to carry out his or her responsibilities, in accordance with the policies established by the Board. He/she provides direction for developing the organization's mission and vision while providing leadership in implementing the annual goals and objectives of Sanabil Elementary, while upholding the standard of Islamic Education.

Qualifications:

• Prior Director, (or Vice Principal) , Principal, or Head of School experience is a must-have for this role, as the Head of School will be responsible for overseeing the overall administration and curriculum supervision of Sanabil Elementary and occasional oversight of our preschool location (Sanabil Learning Center).
• Proficiency in early education teaching is highly desirable, as it will contribute to the academic leadership of the school.
• Previous teaching experience is a relevant skill that will be beneficial in understanding the needs of both students and faculty.
• Experience working directly with students is also important, as the Head of School will need to have a student-centered approach in their leadership style.

Educational Leadership:

• Implements a high-level, joyful elementary and Kindergarten-prep program that is consistent with Sanabil's mission and vision.
• Oversees teachers, reviews and approves curriculum and classroom activities according to best practices in STEM.
• Evaluates and supervises evaluation of all members of the staff.
• Frequently collaborates and develops engaging hands-on, project-based curricula alongside teachers that supports educational excellence in STEM.
• Leads the hiring and training of staff and teachers.
• Organizes Professional Development (PD) activities and STEM trainings for teachers and staff.
• Assists in developing the STEM program and pursuit schoolwide STEM and Islamic School certifications.
• Reviewing and developing school handbooks, policies and procedures that meet Maryland state requirements.
• Managing and preparing annual budgets.
• Communicating effectively with parents and students.
• Discussing student progress, report cards and personal development with parents, providing guidance if necessary in adherence with Islamic values.
• Coordinating the building maintenance and cleaning of the facility according to state and local standards.
• Creates and sustains an environment of mutual respect, high Islamic standards, safety, and a supportive atmosphere for learning.

Community Engagement:

Works with the broader Columbia, MD Muslim community to advance the mission, vision and enrollment efforts of Sanabil Schools. Encourages the advancement of Sanabil within the community by using effective communication, networking and public relations skills. Advocates within the public sphere, listens to parents, volunteers, local masjids, Islamic organizations and the general community in order to improve our educational services and generate positive community involvement. Serves as the public-facing chief spokesperson for the school, assuring proper representation of Sanabil to the Board, parents and the community.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 annual salary
