Hi!
I am doing muon beam decay.
I'd like to know how to make a virtual detector that can let muons pass (not register muons) while registering neutrinos and then kill the neutrinos.

I can create an absorber after a detector to kill neutrinos, but how do I let the muons pass the detector without registering them?

Dear Ting,

It's possible to do this by combining the virtualdetector with a particlefilter to kill neutrinos.
Your detector will register both species, you can simply filter out muons in post-processing.

Hi Ting,

You can do better than that by adding require to the virtual detector command so that it records only neutrinos.

Dear all,

Thanks for the replies, I solved the previous problem. 

Here, I have another problem. I am creating a beam within a detector and some particles decay within the detector. But I cannot get any data by doing it, why is that?
According to the manual, they should be registered?
"Note that secondary particles created within the virtualdetector will not get an entry until they have taken one step. They are guaranteed to do so."
