to SS-Grad-Students-Only, ASPEN1
Social science graduate students and ASPEN members!

Richelle Winkler sent a reminder email for any students planning to attend ISSRM in 2019 to apply for travel grants! Please keep in mind too if you find yourself in a position where funds are limited, IASNR is also looking for volunteers!

Volunteering your time at a conference like ISSRM is a good way to meet other conference attendees (students, faculty, various speakers, community leaders, etc.) and potentially get your registration fee waived or gain additional funding to fill in the any budget gaps! Please consider the application procedure under the student subsidy section below.

Note that applications for this are due April 1st, and earlybird registration closes on April 15th. Thanks!

Jake

June 2-7, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (USA)

Symposium Theme:
Sustainability and the Land Ethic in the Anthropocene:  ‘A Thinking Community’ Explores Critical Issues in Leopold’s Backyard

Dear Colleagues:

The 2019 ISSRM organizers are busy reviewing abstracts and gearing up for the ISSRM! If you have not yet done so, please submit your abstract by March 5th deadline. Please email in...@iasnr.org if you have extenuating circumstances and need extra time to submit an abstract. Symposium activities will begin on Sunday, June 2 and continue through Thursday, June 6th, with post-conference field trips on June 7th. This promises to be a great conference with lots of excellent work presented! You can find all the information you need on the IASNR website. And don’t forget to make your airline and hotel reservation early! Click here for more information on lodging.

The 2019 ISSRM preliminary program is now available! Click here to view the schedule of events.

Registration is now open! The deadline for Early Bird registration (at lower cost) is April 15, 2019. This is also the deadline for all presenters (oral, poster, organizers, and panel) to register. Sessions, papers, and posters will be dropped from the symposium program after April 15 if the presenter is not registered. To register, go to “Registration and Marketplace” page to purchase your registration and other conference related items.

When you register, please look at the multiple add-on options such as field trips and the Student Forum. Click here for descriptions of the field trip options, along with days/times and prices.

Student subsidies are available to support student attendance and participation at the 2019 ISSRM. These awards will be given on a competitive basis and are meant to assist students in offsetting costs associated with attending the 2019 ISSRM. The deadline for applying for these awards is April 1. The award amount will vary depending on the number of applications and total funds collected for student subsidy awards. This is for student members only. Click here for eligibility and application requirements.

And finally, please consider making a voluntary contribution to the Founders Challenge to help reduce the cost of student participation in ISSRM.

Contact Jessica Hill (in...@iasnr.org) with any questions.

We look forward to hosting you at the 2019 ISSRM!

Sincerely,

~ 2019 ISSRM Organizing Committee and IASNR Office
