Climate change is one of the biggest challenges that the international governance space faces today. While there is a designated space and entry point for civil society actors, including young people, to contribute to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), most of them are unaware of this space and their right to it. This is particularly true for young people from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) who are often underrepresented or even absent in climate change negotiations despite being the most vulnerable.
Learn how one small-island-based organization is changing the dynamics at the UN climate change negotiations and giving a level playing field to young people to effectively negotiate with policy makers and amplify the most vulnerable voices. A key success indicator of this initiative has been the inclusion of young people on the official governmental delegation of Seychelles at the UN negotiations to advice and support the Government.
