to Winter Carnival - Main Contact List
Good Evening,
The number of days before Winter Carnival is now in the single digits! Many Special Events begin this week, as well as the Queens Coronation on Saturday. Here's a list of noteworthy items for this week.
Month-Long Statue
Organizations may play any music they want after 6:00pm while working on statue, but keep it clean until then! Blue Key received complaints about music this past Friday, so any organizations found violating this rule will be docked points. The point penalty has yet to be determined.
Queens
The Queens Coronation is on Saturday, January 30! Students tickets are $5 with a Tech ID. Any others are $10.
Queens candidates must remove all props from the Rozsa by January 31 at 11:00pm or 5 points will be deducted from the final score.
Special Events
Broomball begins on Sunday, January 31 from 8:00am-8:00pm at the Broomball Rinks.
Cross Country Skiing is on Saturday, January 30 at 1:00pm at the Michigan Tech Softball Diamond Parking Lot.
Ice Bowling is on Tuesday, January 26 from 9:30pm-1:00am, Wednesday from 10:30pm-1:00am, Thursday from 9:30pm-1:00am, and Friday from 9:30pm-1:00am. All Ice Bowling is held at Dee Stadium in Downtown Houghton.
Ice Fishing is on Saturday, January 30 from 8:00am-4:00pm at Chassel Bay. Check-in at the Sigma Rho house in Chassell.
Individuals wishing to register for Ice Fishing can do so at the Blue Key Office (MUB 106) or Swift True Value Hardware on Tuesday, January 26. There is a registration fee of $10 per person.
Snow Volleyball is on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Michigan Tech Softball Diamonds.
Speed Skating is on Saturday from 8:00am-11:30am at Dee Stadium.
Window Painting is from 9:00am-12:00pm at the SDC on Saturday.
Yooper Sprint is on Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Michigan Tech Softball Diamonds.
