to Winter Carnival - Main Contact List
Hello Winter Carnival participants,
Winter Carnival is 16 days away!!! It's safe to say that we have enough snow for statues now, so we will no longer be using snow from the yards of community members.
Here are the weekly updates...
All-Nighter Statue
Applications will be available beginning January 11 at 8:00am at www.mtu.edu/carnival and
will be accepted until 5:00pm on January 22.
Groups wishing to build an All-Nighter statue must have at least one representative attend the
All-Nighter safety session held on January 21 at 7:00pm in Fisher 135. This meeting is
mandatory for groups entering the All-Nighter statue competition. Ground-fault circuit
interrupters (pigtails) will be available at this meeting for a $25 refundable deposit. Pigtails
must be returned to the Blue Key Office by 8:15am February 5 or the organization will
forfeit its refundable deposit.
Queens
Queen candidates must submit their sound and lighting requirements to the Blue Key Queens
Committee before January 20 at 5:00pm. Candidates failing to do so will automatically be
deducted 10 points from their total possible score of 500.
Stage Revue
Organizations that do not make
it to the finalist round may reclaim their check before 5:00pm on January 22. Checks not
claimed by this date will be forfeited. Stop by the Blue Key office in MUB 106 to claim your check if you haven't already.
Special Events
Curling begins on Saturday, January 23rd at the Calumet Drill House from 10:00am-6:00pm.
