Dear SAPLING members,

Do we have any appetite to organise something for our timezone around ICFP?

I’d like also to see us do something for OOPSLA.

Yours,

Tony

Dear friends in Asia timeband,

Please find Benjamin’s email and propose cool tutorials or social events for the Asian mirror.

Also, please let me know if you are available for “Ask Me Anything” like the one in PLDI 2020:

Looking forward to your engagement!

Best,
Sukyoung

Dear Eijiro, Atsushi, and Atsushi,

As you may have seen, ICFP this year will be held online in a “mirrored” format — the technical presentations will be broadcast twice, 12 hours apart, with one 6AM - 2PM Seattle time and one 10AM  - 6PM Seoul / Tokyo time, while the social events will be mostly separate in the two mirrors.  Stephanie Weirich is the general chair, and Sukyoung Ryu is acting as “asian chair for virtualization” and also general chair for ICFP 2021.

I wonder if some of you might be able to help Sukyoung with organizing social events for the asian mirror, and/or if you might have suggestions for others that we should ask.

We would very much appreciate your assistance in making ICFP 2021 great!

Best,
