Just a reminder that SAPLING this year will be held in conjunction with the Asian Symposium on Programming Languages and Systems (APLAS) conference in Wellington (
http://aplas2018.org).
This year’s SAPLING is sponsored by Oracle Labs and the Australian National University.
The main APLAS conference runs from Monday Dec 3 to Wednesday Dec 5, with the New Ideas and Emerging Results (NIER) workshop on the Sunday before and the SAPLING on the Thursday after.
The list of SAPLING keynotes and talks is now up on the web site with a full schedule to come in due course:
https://wiki.mq.edu.au/display/plrg/SAPLING18
See the page attachments for the abstracts.
As usual, there is no charge for attending SAPLING (nor NIER) but the main conference requires registration. Unfortunately, the official early deadline has passed, but if you are still planning to attend, we’ve been sent this reminder by the chair:
There is a special "industry" rate of $200 NZD that includes keynotes (with lunches) and welcome reception, and banquet and tour can be added for additional $100 and $50 respectively. Since NIER and SAPLING themselves are free to attend, you can get a reasonable mix of things for just $350 total and mingle with the other attendees. If you are interested in full registration (used to be $700 NZD early but now $900 NZD) but cannot afford $900 - you should get in touch with the chair Alex Pontanin via aplas2018 [AT]
ecs.vuw.ac.nz.
We hope to see you there.
cheers,
Tony
