Firefox update problem after successful updating to 140.5.0esr

Hi,

 

we’ve got a strange behaviour with the Firefox-Update to 140.5.0esr.

 

After a successful update Firefox asks for another Restart:

 

When restarted, the updater opens an UAE-Window asking for credentials. Closing it with “No” opens the Browser.

 

Another restart and everything is back to normal again.

 

We couldn’t explain, why Firefox wants to update twice and why it opens the UAE-window on the second try.

This is probably worth opening a bugzilla bug

Can you:

Navigate to about:support
Find the "Update Folder" entry and click "Open Folder".
Open the updates directory.
Inside, you should find some .log files: last-update.log, last-update-elevated.log, backup-update.log, backup-update-elevated.log. They may not all exist.

You can attach those to the bugzilla bug.
