Hi,

We are pleased to announce that the Firefox ESR 91.3.0 release is now
available for download at:
https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/

As always, we recommend that users keep up to date with the newest version
of Firefox ESR for the latest stability and security fixes.

Per previous communications, please note that the release of ESR 91.3.0
also marks the official end of support for ESR 78.x. There will be no
further updates beyond 78.15.0 and users receiving automatic updates will
now be updated to 91.3.0.

Release notes for Firefox 91.3.0esr are available at:

For some reason, my Firefox 93 has started downloading an opening ISOs
in explorer without prompting me.  How can I tell it to save instead (or
ask me)?

Thanks,

Is there an entry for ISOs when you go to about:preferences in the
Applications section?

That's the odd thing - ISO isn't in my apps under about:preferences.

Hi,

Is it possible to use Firefox profiles forth and back between version 78
and 91 esr, or aren't they backwards compatible once opened in 91?

TIA,
Wim

It's definitely not recommended. If any file storage libraries were updated
between the two versions, users would have to convert between the two, and
downgrades are way less supported than upgrades, so there's a good chance
of dataloss or corruption.

Downgrades are prevented to help prevent that corruption. There is an
"--allow-downgrade" flag you can pass to the executable to let you do it.

You'd probably be better off running both ESRs with separate profiles and
using something like Sync to keep them both synced up until you're ready to
fully move on past esr78. Sync knows how to talk to both versions, so
wouldn't corrupt the data.
