Hello,

I’d like to disable search in the awesomebar (address bar) when one open a new tab.

Via group policy (ADMX, Microsoft Windows, Firefox 91 ESR) I tried this in “Preferences” :

{

      "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar": {

        "Value": false,

        "Status": "locked"

      }

}

It doesn't seem to work, do you have an idea ? I must be doing it wrong…

So do you want opening a new tab to not focus the address bar? Or just that when you start typing in search it doesn't go to the address bar instead of allowing you to type in the field?

I’d like it not to focus the address bar when typing in the search field, allowing users to type directly in the search field as before.

We also enabled search bar.

And when we press “enter” on the keyboard in the address bar we want it to consider it as a domain name, without having to type the “/” at the end.

(if I remember correctly it was configured via CCK2 but I don’t know if the equivalent exists via group policy)

I found the problem : I had an obsolete parameter under "preferences (deprecated)".

Sorry, everything works fine.
