Some people keep their browser running for a long time with *lot* of tabs open.

Similarly, I keep various FF ESR instances running weeks on end, each under a different user-ID for security (e.g., banking different from YouTube). This likewise allows me to pick up where I left off in various contexts.

Every so often, FF says I haven't started it in a while, and tries to get me to "Refresh Firefox" for a "like new experience". If I did this, it apparently would *remove* all my extensions as well as clean up other things. That would destroy the contexts that I was counting on in all my tabs. And since I use NoScript everywhere for the security and privacy it adds (e.g., why does banking need Facebook?), it could end in disaster.

Is there some way to disable this (disaster-courting) nag? For that matter, why does it even occur when FF is "managed by your organization"?

Thanks!

Hi Paul,

The pref is:
browser.disableResetPrompt=true

We deploy with polcies.json – snippet:
{

  "policies": {

              "Preferences": {

                "browser.disableResetPrompt": {

                  "Value": true,

                             "Status": "locked"

                }

    }

  }

}

Thank you,

Ryan V. Kasper

Ryan,

I have a bunch of locked policies set already (via JSON), but until now only hoped that this one existed.

Thanks,

FYI, there's a specific policy for this as well:

Mike
