Six months ago, I shared [1] that the Chrome Root Program was hiring and building out a fuller team. I'm happy to report that these efforts have been incredibly successful, and would like to introduce Ryan Dickson. Ryan's no stranger to PKI, having spent a decade working with the US government on smart cards, as a registration authority, designing and implementing PKI for SECRET-classified systems, and last, but not least, having worked with the Federal PKI and with the future US Government Public Trust TLS PKI.

Part of my excitement for this hiring has been making sure that the Chrome Root Program has good forward trajectory to help keep not only Chrome users, but the Web PKI, safe and secure. I'm confident that Ryan, and the team with him, are set for success. Some of you may have noticed I've been less active on incidents and the list recently. This is because my time has been spent tackling some less-visible but exciting PKI and policy issues internally. With the additional staffing and support for the Root Program, and with them up to speed, I've now got the freedom to explore those other unique career opportunities at Google after a much needed sabbatical. As part of this transition, I'm handing off representing the Chrome Root Program here and in incidents to Ryan Dickson, and we've updated [2] to reflect that. While I'll still be around from time to time, as noted on the Wiki, it's really just in a personal capacity, as it has long been noted.

As always, if you want to reach the Chrome Root Program, that's chrome-root-au...@google.com. For the CA participants on the list, I still find I have to regularly redirect requests, and with me taking an extended vacation, I want to make sure they get routed to the right place :)

Welcome, Ryan, and enjoy your sabbatical, Ryan! Good to see that conservation-of-Ryans is alive and well.
