tl;dr If you're an Atom user and write javascript, please install
the linter-eslint-node
package for continued ESLint coverage.
Due to architectural changes within ESLint and the way the existing Atom package (linter-eslint) works, the combination can only support ESlint up to and including v7.
mozilla-central currently uses the ESLint v7 series, and I am
looking at upgrading
it to the v8 series within the next week or so (assuming no
blocking issues are found). There's a few nice features and
improvements that are in v8 that would be good to pick up.
Therefore, if you are an Atom user, please install the linter-eslint-node package for continued coverage.
You may uninstall linter-eslint if all your repositories are using the v7 series or later, more details on this point can be found here.
