Hello everybody,
some ~18 months ago I had introduced a task to scrape debug information
from Windows graphics drivers thanks to the driver archive available on
TechPowerUp. The goal was to have decent crash stacks when we hit driver
bugs (even though we miss function names). Unfortunately the tasks
silently stopped working a few months later and have only restarted now
that I've fixed bug 1863288 [1]. The scraper will fetch up to 10 driver
versions per day, so it will take at least a month to catch up with all
the drivers in the wild. In the meantime don't panic if you encounter a
sudden spike in graphics-related crashes (such as in bug 1906490 [2]).
It's just an effect of the crash signatures being adjusted as more and
more drivers are scraped. The crashes were already there, they're just
ending up under the correct signature (and bug).
