Hi all,

In the past, it was possible to log in to Lando using Google and Firefox account details. We have now disabled those options, and only an LDAP account is accepted as a login method.

Those other login methods weren't always associated with LDAP accounts, and SCM level permissions. This led to confusing situations where one could log in, but subsequently not do anything useful. By only allowing LDAP account logins, we tightened this gap.

If you previously were using one of those authentication methods to log in to Lando, please now use your LDAP account instead. If you do not currently have an LDAP account with matching commit permissions, you may request one following our commit access policy  https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/governance/policies/commit/

You can check your account details at https://login.mozilla.com.

Thanks, and sorry for the annoyance if you have to setup/recover an account you forgot about!

The uplift process also uses Lando to fill in the uplift request form. Does that mean you now need commit access and a Mozilla LDAP account to request an uplift?

Hey Mathew,

Sorry for not answering earlier.

Yes, I think getting commit access would be the way to go. Just Level 1 [0] (Try) should be sufficient for what you need.

I'm surprised that you need to request uplifts without having had a need for commit access before. Would you mind describing your use-case/workflow a bit more? This sounds like something we hadn't considered.

Cheers!

My posts seem to be getting deleted on Google Groups. That's why I posted twice before if you got both.

I was just asking since uplifts weren't mentioned in your post as one of the things that Lando does.

Ah, yep, fair enough. This certainly flew under our radar. Sorry about that!

But getting Try commit access should get you sorted.

(FWIW, I'm seeing delays before the message appear on Google Groups, which is why your message may appear to have been deleted?)
