Bank Account Syncing Issues

One piece of feedback we've heard relates to syncing bank accounts. For some of you it has been seamless and for others you've run into issues. A few things to note:
  1. We Use Plaid: Plaid is a third-party tool we use to integrate with your bank. It's the most widely used tool of its kind (e.g. it's what Venmo uses among many others). It doesn't work with all institutions and often has issues if you have two-factor authentication enabled with your bank. In short, there's only so much we can control here but please keep us posted on how well it's working for you.

  2. When you have syncing issues: You can try to follow our error messaging. Often logging back into your bank (via Plaid) will resolve the issue. If you get an error message that is incomprehensible (e.g. it's code or something like that), please take a screenshot and send it to us at sup...@moneyswell.com. We've already fixed on issue specific to Capital One credit card accounts thanks to the feedback from one user.

  3. Manual Accounts: Even for me, not all of my banks easily work with Plaid. So I have a few accounts that I've set up as "manual accounts." I update the value of these accounts anywhere from a few times a month to once a year.
