Good Morning Collaborators:
Happy Tuesday!
We know how tough it can be to keep up with vehicle repairs — and how important a working car is for getting to work, school, and appointments. The Miami County Community Action Council (MCCAC) is excited to announce a new vehicle repair assistance program.
The Wheels to Work program will provide authorized vehicle repairs up to an amount of $2,500/household for applicants who are TANF eligible. In addition to the repair costs, the $2,500 limit will also include: 1) cost of bids from vendors (if applicable), 2) cost of towing (if applicable) and/or 3) car insurance (up to 3 months). Eligible clients must verify that they are: 1) currently working, 2) enrolled in job or vocational training or an apprenticeship program OR 3) actively seeking work. Clients will be required to provide the following documentation to participate in the program:
Due to the government shutdown last fall and continued legislative uncertainty, this program was released late. The deadline for this year’s program is June 30, 2026. The MCCAC has been awarded funding for the following program year beginning on July 1, 2026 and going until June 30, 2027 or when funding is expended. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Applicants should call the MCCAC to apply for this assistance. Our number is 937.335.7921.
Please see the attached flyer and feel free to distribute as needed.
