Hello,
Recently, Keith's Law was signed by Governor Mike DeWine. According to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Keith's Law builds upon Communication Disability Law, enabling first responders to have information shared by individuals with disabilities when
responding to countywide 9-1-1 calls. This entails voluntary registration in a database that would allow first responders to know about many different disability diagnoses, not only communication difficulties. You can read more about the law here:
House Bill 144 Keith’s Law - Voluntary Database for Ohioans with Disabilities Enhances Emergency Response | Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Adults with disabilities or parents of children with disabilities can complete the form. It will also
need to be signed by a physician.
I have attached the enrollment form for anyone who would like to enroll in the database. There are 3 options for submitting the information listed on the form.
Thank you,
Amy
