to discuss, Measurement Lab Team

Hi everyone,

Measurement Lab (M-Lab) is pleased to announce our participation in the upcoming RightsCon Summit in Taipei! M-Lab will host a workshop and have a booth on the Internet Quality Barometer (IQB) project.

Measuring Internet Performance with Open Data Workshop on Wednesday, February 26 from 14:00 to 15:00 (Taipei time) in the Joy Room. Session ID: 25922

  • Measurement Lab is an open-source platform that has collected Internet performance data since 2009 and as of 2020, collects 5 million test results worldwide per day. This workshop will focus on empowering participants to use M-Lab data to make data-driven arguments in their Internet Access and Inclusion work using open Internet performance data.

  • No previous data experience will be assumed or required. The session will mostly focus on how the measurements work, what they can tell you and the basics of how to access the data and start querying it for free.

The Internet Quality Barometer: How to Redefine Internet Quality Beyond “Speed” Booth on Thursday, February 27 from 1:30 to 5:30 PM (Taipei time).

  • IQB is a research project that seeks to redefine internet quality beyond “speed” and is funded by the Internet Society Foundation. The goal of the IQB project is to create an actionable framework for use by policymakers and high level decision makers globally.

  • Come to the IQB Booth to learn about the first iteration of the IQB framework, answer questions, and give your feedback!

In addition, M-Lab will join OONI and IODA to host an Internet measurement booth on Wednesday, February 26th, from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM!

If you'll be in Taipei, please come to our engagements during RightsCon! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to he...@measurementlab.net

Best,

Melissa
