Hello everyone,

Friendly reminder that we will host our next Connectivity Community of Practice next week!

This session will explore the vision and strategic framework specifically designed for educational environments. Given the substantial scope of this work, our discussion will focus on establishing big-picture themes and priorities that will guide what we hope will become a dedicated working group in the detailed development ahead. Learn more about the existing user-based IQB on our blog.

The Challenge and Opportunity

Current Internet measurement approaches often fail to capture the unique connectivity landscape of educational facilities. Schools operate as complex network environments with multiple simultaneous use cases - from administrative functions and classroom instruction to student research and content delivery.

IQB-Edu Objectives

IQB Edu seeks to - create a measurement framework that positions school connectivity as a foundation for educational equity, enabling evidence-based decisions that ensure every student has the digital infrastructure needed to support their learning.

Global Participation

Recognizing our community spans multiple continents and time zones, we're hosting two identical sessions to ensure broad participation:

Session 1: May 18th at 3pm EDT, 1900 UTC (see in your timezone) - Register

Session 2: May 19th at 4am EDT, 0800 UTC (see in your timezone)- Register

Both sessions will cover the same content and contribute to the same strategic outcomes.

Setting the Foundation for Sustained Work

This session will gather community perspectives on the IQB-Edu efforts and feed toward a working group which will carry forward detailed technical development. By focusing on vision and strategy in this community session, we can ensure the working group begins with clear direction and broad community perspectives.

Join the Strategic Discussion

Whether you're an educator, network engineer, researcher, policy maker, or advocate working at the intersection of Internet measurement and educational connectivity, your perspective is essential for establishing the right foundation for this work.
