Dear MDAnalysis Team,

I am Vandana Kumari, currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering and an joining a firm as  Software Engineer in 2024. I am writing to convey my sincere interest in participating in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program with MDAnalysis in 2024.

Having thoroughly explored the detailed information on your GSoC 2023 page, I am intrigued by the compelling opportunities MDAnalysis offers for contributors interested in molecular dynamics simulations and related analyses. The outlined projects, combined with the potential for mentorship and a collaborative environment, align seamlessly with my coding passion and my keen interest in this field.

I am dedicated to immersing myself in the MDAnalysis community, grasping its dynamics, and actively engaging in discussions and development processes.

I firmly believe that contributing beyond GSoC 2024 will not only enhance my skills but also empower me to make meaningful contributions to the MDAnalysis project. I am prepared to acquaint myself with your codebase, address existing issues, and contribute to improving documentation or writing tests as required.

Kindly Guide me throughout the process.
regards, Vandana Kumari.

Hi Vandana,
I noticed that part of your e-mail (Dec 21, 2023, 6:44:39 PM) is copied verbatim from the e-mail of Joshua Varghese (Dec 1, 2023, 4:53:15 PM) [https://groups.google.com/a/mdanalysis.org/g/gsoc/c/yCXnNPNOmV0/m/fh-0RRjIAAAJ].

This is a form of plagiarism and deceit. We do not tolerate such behavior in our community. Our Code of Conduct stipulates respectful behavior to each other https://www.mdanalysis.org/pages/conduct/ and using someone else's words and work without attribution is NOT respectful (it's also a major breach of ethics which is harshly punished in academia).
