Contribution for Project 5
Aarushi Jain
Dear mentor,
My name is Aarushi Jain, and I am a master's student of computer science at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am interested in participating in the Summer Code Mdanalysis, specifically in Project 5, which involves the Implementation of parallel analysis in MDAnalysis.
With my background in parallel processing, GPU computing, CUDA, high-performance computing, and machine learning, I am confident that I have the necessary skills to contribute to the project's objectives. I am proficient in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python, and I have experience with containers such as Docker and Singularity.
During my undergraduate studies, I took up internships and research projects at various research organizations, including the Grid Computing Lab of the Variable Energy Cyclotron Center in Kolkata, where I gained hands-on exposure to Pthread, MPI, and OpenMP methods for event selection processes.
My interest in the field of scientific computing led me to a summer training program at Vienna Scientific Cluster, TU Wien, Austria, where I worked on the development and implementation of the improvement in the Marching Tetrahedra Algorithm, which was first developed for CPU and was later ported to the GPU with the help of CUDA.
Lastly, I had the opportunity to work as an intern with NVIDIA, where I worked on the latest state-of-the-art supercomputers (Param-Siddhi and V100) and implemented DeePMD-kit, which is used to construct DL models of interatomic potential energy and force fields and for conducting molecular dynamics, on these supercomputers.
I believe that my experience in scientific computing, parallel programming, and molecular dynamics makes me an excellent candidate for the Summer Code Mdanalysis program. I am excited about the opportunity to work with other participants and project mentors to achieve the project's objectives.
