Greetings MUCC’ers,
Following is a gentle reminder of the announcement guidelines SaLT has implemented regarding announcements during worship service. The complete "Moderator Chat" article can be found in the Pulse for April 17, 2026.
At last month's SaLT meeting, it was decided to make a statement before announcements to aid in outlining guidelines for the announcements.
- Announcements should be brief and concise.
- Announcements should be relevant to the ministries and life of the Congregation.
- Announcements should reflect last-minute changes from the previous Pulse publication.
In addition, SaLT members or the Moderator accept feedback after the worship service during fellowship time or via email (sa...@mcfarlanducc.org or wa...@mcfarlanducc.org). SaLT will review “how it’s going” and “make any needed tweaks” at our next meeting on Thursday, May 14, 6 pm. Remember, SaLT meetings are open for all to attend in person and or via Zoom. Thank you!

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Let’s talk tea, specifically, tea bags. Some bags are fully plastic/nylon (the cute little tent-shaped ones); some have plastic mixed with the paper to retain shape; some are sealed with a plastic glue; all affect our health and the environment. Plastic bags do NOT break down in compost, so they need to be thrown in the landfill. Here is a list of some common tea brands that are plastic-free: Equal Exchange, Yogi, Stash, and Twining. You can always use loose-leaf tea in a metal or glass strainer/infuser. Sadly, Celestial Seasonings, a favorite of many, is NOT plastic-free. For any tea donations to the church, please use this list so we may compost.
