Do you have blankets, sheets, or other bedding that you no longer use? Dozens of families across Dane County cannot afford basic household essentials.
The Social Justice Collective and Creation Care Ministry will collect blankets and bedding on Sunday, February 1. Monetary donations are also accepted: please click here to make a monetary donation. St. Vincent de Paul will use the funds to buy new blankets in bulk.
All donations will be distributed directly to families by St. Vincent de Paul — Madison in 2026. Last year, community members donated 5,557 blankets during the drive! The goal this year is to collect another 5,000 blankets and $15,000 in donations.
Thanks for helping our neighbors in need by contributing to Recycle the Warmth!

Youth Group Gathering
Sunday, February 1, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Memorial UCC
It's a chili potluck! This month we will begin our get together with a game and then enjoy a meal together. During dinner we will continue our conversation around Random Acts of Kindness. Afterwards we will move into the sanctuary and reflect on the events in the world and how we are experiencing them intersecting with our lives - and our faith.
Youth Group is open to youth 11-18 years of age and friends are welcome! Feel free to come even if this will be your first time.
P.S. - parents are welcome to come and participate as mentors too! #crossgenerational

Lost and Found Basket
There are LOTS of items in the lost and found basket (many added recently) located in the Fellowship area under the table by the main entry doors. The new and old items will be donated just after the end of January.

Candlelight Potluck Offering with Movement, Meditation, and Connection
Feb 1, 1-4pm
Join Meagan Mac Ionnrachtaigh of SACRED THREAD. Meagan is a Yoga Teacher, Chef, Massage Therapist, and Womb Continuum Care Practitioner. Sacred Thread is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to the thriving wellness of all.
At the event, together we will sow a seed of intention, clear energy, and grow and shine our beautiful light within through voice, movement, and meditation. Afterwards, we'll share in a porridge potluck by candlelight to celebrate the ushering in of more daylight. All ages are welcome, and more details, including what to bring, can be found here.

Registration Is Open!
Registration for Summer Camp at Daycholah Center opened on January 12. Camp Daycholah offers a joyful, unplugged experience where children and youth build friendships, grow in confidence and spirit, and connect with nature. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early.

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Reduce road salt use: Jan 26-30 is Winter Salt Week. “Once salt is in the environment it doesn’t go away. It ends up in our lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands. Chloride from salt degrades freshwater ecosystems. It only takes 1 teaspoon of salt to permanently pollute 5 gallons of water to a level that is toxic to native aquatic organisms (395 mg/L)”. To reduce salt use: shovel often & early so sun can help melt snow, learn the proper amount of salt to use (there should be 3 in between crystals otherwise it is overused), know that salt does not work below 15 degrees, switch to sand. You also can sweep up salt to save for another time. Click here to learn more.
