Celebration of Life for Steve Davidson
Please join us for a Celebration of Life event for our dear Steve Davidson. It will take place immediately following our church service on Sunday, August 30, in the fellowship area. Coffee and our usual treats will be served. Peter Cavi will sing a song he wrote about Steve, and then folks can say a few words about Steve if they so wish to do so. Steve did not want a formal church service, so we will honor his wishes. There will also be no Bible study that day. If you have any questions, please contact Lynn Belleau or the office.

Help raise money for wells in Uganda!
Jean Blackmore and Martha Olsen participated in the dedication and building of wells in Uganda. In September, you can join us to raise money for additional wells. The 2026 Walk-4-Water event is September 19 at McDaniel Park. The funds raised will provide safe drinking water to thousands of villagers in rural Uganda. Access to clean, safe water reduces disease and saves lives. The 2026 Walk-4-Water is the eighth year the McFarland Lutheran Church has held the event. Past fundraisers have provided for 23 wells in Uganda. This year’s goal is $57,500, enough to fund the drilling of 5 freshwater borehole wells in rural Uganda. We hope that you will join us!

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are natural, non-toxic products that clean many surfaces in your home. The two products can be safely combined to form a paste or used separately to whiten laundry, remove odors, disinfect surfaces, click here to learn more. Never mix and store baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a closed container. Mix them when you are ready to do some cleaning for the best results. Hydrogen peroxide can irritate eyes and skin and is toxic if ingested. It is recommended to wear protective gloves when cleaning with hydrogen peroxide.
Make a DIY Grout Cleaner: Add the mild bleaching action of hydrogen peroxide to the gentle abrasive action of baking soda to clean tile grout. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide, and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Use a sponge to apply the mixture to the grout. Let it work for at least 10 minutes. Use a grout brush to scrub the grout lines. Wipe away the mixture with a damp sponge or microfiber cloth. Rinse well with a stream of water or a clean cloth.
